To upgrade luns/datatsore[from 3.46] while doing upgrade form Esxi 4.1 to 5.1
Hi,
We have cluster having 8 host under it running with esxi 4.1, and each host attached with approx 200+datastore/luns
my concern is while we do upgrade form Esxi 4.1 to Esxi 5.1 (will do one by one for each host in cluster)
will there be any impact for the luns attached to each of my hosts ?
what are the best practice/recommendation/co
will vmfs also upgrade during host upgrade ?
if yes..how those luns will be visible for other hosts in same cluster running with 4.1 ?

Please advice if i can go ahead with update manager baseline created for Esxi 5.1 ?
and will there be any issue with luns/datasore visible for my host after upgrade, as same are in use by other host in cluster running with esxi 4.1

it was no issue for my luns but after upgrade i found issue with my vms
after upgrade esx to 5,1,i have moved some of my vms back to upgrade esxi 5.1,but once vms are on this esxi 5.1,unable to ping access those vms in network.?
even tried to ping vms form host ,no ping,while am able to reach gateway for the subnet defined for vms,but no ping response for vm ips only ?

my Esxi 's are running at remote side on blade chassis[H Series IBM & Blade is HS22]
so no option to remove cables before upgrade ?
and any how we remove that how it will be available in vc ?
are you taking about fc cables only ?
do we have any option ,which can be applied form blade console form chassis or form Esxi under Vc?
and i believe hs22 is supported by esxi 5.1 as well
