outlook 2007 - distribution list format

My OS is win 7 prof 64 bit and I use Outlook 2007.  I am creating a Distribution List.
After clicking on File, then Distribution List, I typed the name of the DL, eg Seniors 4.
Then in I clicked on "Add New".  For display name, I gave it the same name; Seniors 4, and in the field "Emaik  address: " I copied and pasted about 10 emails separated by ';'.  and here is a sampling of the emails ;

 surnath@hotmail.com; hhdesai@aol.com; dgilra@verizon.net ; kpdoshi@hotmail.com; vathavale@comcast.net; B1114@yahoo.com; subrabaliga@hotmail.com; smchoda@msn.com; hdhuria@yahoo.com; rsdwivedi@comcast.net;

but when I tried to save, I get the following error
;
 The e-mail address of one or more members is not in a valid format.  All email addresses must be in the following format ; 'daniel@contoso.com'

Can the experts please take a look at the email sample data and let me know what is wrong.  I managed to save 2 DLs using the same format as above.

I am lost of what is wrong.  Thank u.

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

you may just have to remove the extra space right before the semi-colon in dgilra@verizon.net ;

If that doesn't solve it right away, please remove the space before the semi-colon mentioned above, copy all the mail addresses into notepad. Select them all again and copy them back to outlook from there. (This way you can make sure that there is absolutely no unwanted formatting etc. left)
