exchange 2013 on Windows Server 2012

We are looking to replace our 7 user SBS 2003 server with a new server. we have allways used sbs 2011 in the past and have never installed exchange 2013 on windows server 2012.

My question is this. Can we install Windows server 2012 and Exchange 2013 on the same server (in a non virtual mode) much in the same way it was installed on SBS 2011?

Will there be anything out of the normal that we will need to consider when setting up the server?

Is there anything else we need to consider? We will have Windows 7 pro pcs and office 2007 (BUT WE MAY UPGRADE TO OFFICE 2013 ) before the install.

Please advise

Microsoft officially discourages installing exchange on a domain controller. I can personally back up that position from personal experience. You'll be far better off installing exchange on a second member server. Virtualizing is useful for such scenarios.

As to the second part of your question, one thing to consider immediately is that there is no coexistence support between exchange 2003 and 2013. So moving mailboxes directly from one to the other is not possible. You will either be looking at exporting and importing, or at introducing an intermediate 2007 or 2010 Server as a temporary stepping stone.
