SBS 2011 Adding a second server.

So a customer wants new server, On the current server they run SQL 2003 Workgroup edition on the SBS 2003 server.

Now the company who support and provide the sql package say they would recommend 2 servers one for sql one for the rest of the stuff.

From research I’ve found that SBS 2011 PAO also comes with an additional 2008 licence.

Questions are once I’ve installed the second server OS how do i go about connecting it to the main server?

Does the second server have to be a DC?

Can i use a different version other then SQL 2008 Small business that come with SBS 2011 PAO?

Does the second server have to be a DC?

It not require second server to be DC. Two SBS server as domain controller not work on same environment. You can add second server as member server.
