HP P4000 Failover Manager virtual machine

Hi all,

Currently upgrading my VM hosts to 5.1. We have a HP 4000 FOM server that was installed on the local host disk for some reason. Im not sure why. As im not familiar with the FOM server I want to know if I can shut this down with affecting the SAN in anyway?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If I am reading the information the in the link below. When FOM is installed on a thrid party host, is acts as a quorum for your SAN failover. In any cluster if you loose quorum your cluster would go down. So I would say YES shutting down FOM would impact your SAN.

You may want to do this after hours...
