AppAssure Error

We have a Windows 2008 server running in 32-bit that has been connected to AppAssure and being backed up for quite some time. All of the sudden, the backups started failing with the following error.

VSS error: The VSS writer 'SqlServerWriter' failed during the 'DoSnapshotSet' phase with error WriterErrorNonRetryable. The VSS writer state is FailedAtPostSnapshot

All of the basic troubleshooting has taken place. I have scoured the web looking for a fix, but the only thing I can find is a Hotfix that applies to 64-bit systems. Has anyone ran into this?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Below posts contains redirections to MS support links. Both support links are having downloads which contain both 32-bit and 64-bit files. Have you done troubleshooting/hotfix described in these?
