I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

It should be:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=${ORACLE_HOME}/lib:/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/oracle/app/oracle/product/11.2.0/db/lib:/lib:/usr/lib:/usr/local/lib

You cannot have the value of the ORACLE_HOME variable in the brackets, otherwise it is interpreting that as the name of the variable you are trying to substitute.
