I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You clicked on Carry in Repair (Depot Service). For that service you take it to the Service Depot, or else you pay for the courier. I have two Service Depots "near" me (one on each side of the metropolis) and myself or my colleague normally take the machines in.

You pay less for Depot Service than for on-site service.

An old data point: About seven-eight years (?) ago before Lenovo, IBM gave me an option: take the laptop to a depot or ship it to them for hard-drive replacement. I shipped it and they paid for shipping costs both ways. :-)

Lenovo will still ship field replaceable parts to you under warranty at no charge.  Also, if dead on arrival or very soon after, they will ship you a box to ship the unit back.

But if you need the unit repaired by them, you have to take it to the depot for the line you chose in your picture.
