Discovery Search Mailbox / Exchange 2013

We currently have Exchange 2007 and 2013 running in coexistence mode. I am trying to move or better yet delete the 'DiscoverySearchMailbox' but am not successfull. My goal is to delete or migrated this mailbox to a newer DB in order to delete the DB.

I’m not sure if the entire mailbox name is correct or not because all I get is a truncated name when I use the 'GetMailboxDatase'.

Also, if i try to look it up in EAC it does not appear.

I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

That mailbox is an arbitration mailbox, and you have to use a special command:

get-mailbox -Database “Mailbox Database 1¿ -Arbitration | New-MoveRequest –TargetDatabase “MailboxDatabase2¿

(Where Database 1 is the old database, and database 2 is the new).

Is it safe to delete this mailbox??
Simon Butler (Sembee)ConsultantCommented:
No, because it is a system mailbox. You need to move it to another database.
