How to remove vmware and use physical server 2008
I have a HP DL360 Windows 2008 server that has vmware on it. It's currently not being used and I would like to set it up as my domain controller. Our current domain controller is failing and there's no backup DC. I deleted one of the vm's and there's just one more left. I need to install the DC on the physical machine - no vm's needed.

In the BIOS, make your DVD the primary boot device and boot with the Windows 2008 DVD inserted.
Are you using VMware vSphere?
Just install Windows OS and run dcpromo and then transfer FSMO roles from other DC

My bad, it's running Hyper-V, not VMware. Thanks for your posts.
You will need to erase the current OS.
Re-install Windows 2008 OS, add DC role and transfer the roles.
or create a Virtual DC.
