POP3 with Domino Lotus Notes

We use Lotus Notes (8.5.3) for our mail, internal and external and it does so via SMTP. We have a new product that can send emails that is requiring a pop3 connection. Does Lotus Notes allow that type of connection? If so, how would I set this up?

In the past with our other applications they have always worked with SMTP, so this POP3 is a first for me.

Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

AFAIK, POP3 is only used to receive mails. Sending mails is always SMTP. A Domino server can handle both (and IMAP as well).

For starters, here 's a page that explains how POP3 is to be set up on a Domino R6 server. R8.5 isn't that much different, so it should give you the clues you need.
