I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Who advised you to harden it this way, if I may ask? MS wouldn't.

Ok, then ask them how to remove it AND let them confirm it's not a typing error of some kind. Because windows won't let you, it needs this config.
I am not sure if there is a way to set this, there used to be the old tool ntrights.exe but this very privilege you mention, cannot be granted/revoked with that tool (while others can).
