1950 dell server & exchange 2003

hi

originally I was going to install my exchange 2003 on my wsus domain member server temporarily but just incase there are issues I do not wish to disturb my wsus even though running via port: 8530.

question 1.  I wish to know if there would be any problems installing exchange 2003 on my dell poweredge 1950 server as exchange 2003 is what I am more familiar with and once I have it up & running with all updates and send/receive email externally successfully.  I then plan at a later date to upgrade to exchange 2010/2012 with this same dell poweredge 1950 ?

hi trgrassijr55, thanks that's good to know! :)
hi seth2740, yes this dell 1950 is just as a temporary measure.

you mentioned below:

"i would look at new hardware with windows 2008 r2/exchange 2010; you can't go directly from exchange 2003 to 2013"

question 1.  surely I could migrate a dell poweredge 1950 if it was running exchange 2003 to another correct hardware physical server for 2010 & or 2013 ?

question 2.  what do you mean I cant go directly from exchange 2003 to 2013, presumably a migration & not an upgrade is possible ?
