Which software published a PDF?

Hello all,

I am trying to determine what the original source for a PDF is (actually a bunch of PDFs).

For instance, a PDF can be created by Adobe FrameMaker, Indesign, PDF Publisher, Microsoft Word,  MadCap Flare, Microsoft Visio, and any thousands of other publishing tools.

Ideally, I am looking for a tool that will scan and indicate various information (especially the original tool) about PDFs.

Thank you

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.
