Need a printer that will automatically connect to my laptop despite network

I need to get a color laser printer that will automatically connect with a laptop.  Heres the catch.  I need to set it up to connect and then send both products out to a remote location so that they connect and print.  The only thing I guess that works is bluetooth.  Is there a good color laser printer that will do this?

Should I get an adapter bluetooth?  How well do they work if so?

How about USB or Ethernet?  Or is a cable not a solution at the remote site?

Can't use a cable solution.  The problem is that I don't want to deal with an existing network if possible.

OK.  I wasn't trying to suggest dealing with an existing network.  So, if that's not in the discussion, why might you not use a cable?

I'm thinking that the laptop and the printer could be wired together of course.

It's not an option...

You should be able to get a wireless connection to the printer in "ad hoc" mode but this will mean that the laptop won't be able to use the same wireless connection to connect to a network.

I would need internet and printer...

Can you help us understand why a cable is not an option?  Maybe there's something that could be recommended based on understanding the actual constraint in this regard.

How does Google print work? What I just select it from the list of printers in my word document?

You need to go onto Google and figure out how to make the printer available there.
