Backup Exec vmware agent

Hi All

I think this is a fairly simple question.  I just installed VMsphere 5.1 and do not have much experience with it.  I already have backup exec 2010 taking care of backups.  What I want to do is backup the VMware datastore or (select vms within it) from backup exec.  Is this possible?  I am assuming that there is a plugin either for vmware or for backup exec that will allow me to browse and select objects in the datastore from backup exec 2010.

I know i could move the select files to the windows environment and then let the backup grab it but at the moment that is not going to work for me.  Any help is appreciated.

Yes, that is very possible. You need to purchase the VM agent for Backup Exec then configure a new backup job for that VM.

Here is the best practices doc for that situation

Here is a video on how it works

It is possible if you have the required Licensed Options with Backup Exec.
