I use novastor to backup a server with win server 2008 r2 on it.  It has an accounting system that uses SQL as the database.  When I am using the disaster recovery option with novastor I select all drives on the machine (C&D)  D has the accounting system sql instance on it.  This machine is not virtualized.  I have done this backup before to an external hard drive and was wondering if this would be sufficient if the machine crashed and I needed to buy replacement and restore from the novastor DR image file?  Anyone familiar enough with Noavastor to answer this?

Which version are you running?

Business Essentials is configured for SQL backups.

From the website:

All file types supported
Complete file level backup/restore and mirror image disaster recovery for all your business critical server files including SQL/Exchange data.

Personally, I would not trust anything that is not specifically tailored to my needs; which means, if your current plan is not optimized and configured for SQL backups, I would consider any success with a lesser version 'lucky'.
