2nd Server 2003 DC dependent on the 1st Server 2003 DC

I had one DC.  I set up a 2nd.  That went fine.  But now when I shut down the 1st DC the 2nd can't find the domain.  What else needs to be done?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

With both DC's up, the new DC shows up in Active Directory Users and Computers... Domain Controllers.

Check your DNS settings on the 2nd server

DNS Primary should point to main server
DNS Secondary should point to itself

The 2nd DC is also the DNS server.  The only DNS server on the domain.

Because this is a new domain with few accounts, I removed it and created it new.
