Google Maps - differences between Android and PC versions?

Hi,

Over the last few weeks, I've added some cycling tracks to Google Maps using Google MapMaker.

These have been published and I can see them on any computer.

When I look at Google Maps on my Samsung S2, these new tracks are not there. I've tried uninstalling the updates and reverting Maps to the factory original version and I've emptied the cache many times but the new tracks do not appear.

Does the Android road and track library only get updated when a new version of the app is released or am I missing something?

Thanks

Have you gone into settings in google maps on device and checked if its the same account logged into as your PC one (gmail email)

If I'm logged into Google on the PC, its the same account as the one used on the phone.

On the PC, if I don't log into Google, I can still see the published tracks. I can see them on another PC that I've never logged into Google on.

Google Maps was already installed.

I've now attached 2 screenshots, one taken from my Samsung S2 with the latest Google Maps, the other from a PC (while not logged into a Google account).

This is northwest of La-Tranche-sur-Mer in France if you want to check it yourselves.

I've zoomed in fully on the phone so it has nothing to do with level of detail.

I would check my settings on the map on Google.  Make sure anyone can view it !

I have just checked 2 Android phones and the maps have been updated this week. The maps now show the first batch of map changes I made but not the most recent ones.

This suggests that Google releases changes to the mobile version in bundles, and not in real time.

I would say you are correct but if the files are not public you will have to change the settings.  It may be a conversion problem from Google to phone.

I'll wait another week and see if the newer tracks end up on the phone maps. At the moment they're not there.

Almost a month later and the tracks are now there, without any further intervention from me. Thanks for the suggestions though

I made two lots of changes to Google Maps (a few weeks apart) and these were instantly available on the desktop version. The first lot of changes only filtered down onto mobile devices a few weeks later. Another few weeks later, the second lot of changes appeared on mobile devices.

This proves the changes are not reflected on mobile devices in realtime, as per my suggestion when asking the original question.
