PHP Get Image Size

Hello I am working with a script that changes the size of an image then uploads it..The issue is that it is changing the size of files even if they are smaller than the "Resize" function..

I am using the function below to do this..

My questions is, how can I get the height and width of the image first? Once I have that I can tell it not to resize the image if the image is already smaller...

Thanks

$resize->resizeTo(800, 800, 'maxWidth');

This strategy will upload the image file, then resize it with PHP once you have it on the server.
