I purchased neat receipts many years ago I was a road warrior etc. etc.

Never thought the software was useable but the scanner is (ND-1000 model). I would like to get rid of the software as a matter of principle and just use the scanner.

I found this line in the "log" and wondering if I could copy this file somewhere uninstall and just use this with the file.
Executing MsiExec.exe /i "Neat ADF Scanner 64 Driver.msi" REBOOT=ReallySuppress /qb! /L*V "adf_install.log"

This file is probably extracted and executed during install. It means you have to be quick to copy the file away during the setup. Just have a Explorer window open to c:\documents and settings\yourusername\local settings\temp\ (or C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp\ for vista or higher), and start the setup. Probably one ore two extra folders will be added during install, just keep browsing until you find the file, and if not sure, copy the other files away from the folder you found the file in too.
It's quick finger work and takes some timing.

I actually have the file or know where it is. The "problem" is that the line I pasted above it part of a "core" installation. I don't know if core means install each part separately with a shell installer over it or there are dependencies.

I could just try and see but would rather not risk problems with registry entries missing DLLs etc. I have had experiences when restore points did not go well and a complete image seems like overkill for a try and see thing.

I was looking for experience or success or failure stories.

Everything points that this line will install the drivers only. Don't be afraid!
