Changing File menu

Is there a way to change the items (remove , add or change order)  for the "file" menu in windows explorer?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I beleive the file items are listed in alphabetical order the order of these items can not be changed. You probably could probably use user policies that deny access to some of the menu items but then these items will only be greyed out preventing the user from using them and even though he may still see the item in the list he will not be able to run the command. So what operating system are we talking about and what are you trying to delete, or add?

I have programs that have added items to the menu which I don't want. There are duplicate items, some items I never use, and I would like the items I use the most at the top.

yes there probably are 3 party applications that can alter these settings but I am not aware of any permit you to change the order of items display. I was speaking of in windows 7 itself you can not alter these settings, you would have to use 3 party software to do that.

FYI - this morning many of the duplicate items were gone,  So that problem solved itself.

But it still would be nice to be able do some changes.
