Cisco Aironet 1040 series step-by-step configuration

Hi Experts,

I have a brand new Cisco access point and connected to with a console cable to the unit. How do I configure IP, gateway and web interface, so I can then configure the unit from the web UI. I am not particularly strong with Cisco CLI.

I've gone as far as:

ap.#configure terminal
Enter configuration commands, one per line.  End with CNTL/Z.
ap.(config)#interface bvi 1
ap.(config-if)#ip address

Please post remaining steps.

Thank you.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

You're ready to go. Looks like you already know the AP's address, just enter that into your browser and sign in with the default Cisco Cisco. From there you can configure a static IP address and the rest of the network info, and carry on. Make sure your PC is on the same subnet as the AP of course.
