Hi
i am having an ongoing issue with the sort functions in the contacts list in outlook, so i go to the contacts and then sat sort by name desending a-z outlook sorts it with out issue but then if click on the same tab to sort asending the contacts display goes blank and says "there are no items to display " which is clearly not the case if i click on it again nothing but is i then tell it to sort on a different tab lets say company tab it works .. it's very random and happens with all the sort tabs and is not just confined to the contacts inbox sent etc are all affected and so are PST files, ive uninstalled office tried office repair recreated the mailbox deleted the ost file any help would be appreciated

Have you tried running Outlook in safe mode?
Start > type RUN > type the following:
outlook.exe /safe

Yup tried that too ! and it had no effect .. also tried the ctrl click method too
One thing you might try is running the Office Configuration Analyzer Tool (OffCAT).
This will tell you about Outlook hotfixes that are available but not yet applied to your Office installation. Installing one of these hotfixes may resolve your issue. (FYI - most of these hotfixes are not available via Windows Update).
