"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Hi,

Auditing in Windows does not provide granular auditing featues. It monitors if access is success or failure and reports the same. If you need more granular auditing in windows Server 2003, you may have to depend on third party softwares. Following are some of such products.

Also, it would be a nice idea to block all the external storage devices to increase the security. If there is no option available to copy the data then the environment would be more secure.

You could use GPO settings to block all external devices for your computers in domain. Following article gives insight on that.
