You must have administrative credentials to perform this task. Contact your system administrator for assistance

I have a website which is talking to database and calling a stored procedure which just gets the details of the users and then after the proc is executed i see the following error

Proc which is called.
exec GetUserDetails @MembershipNo=N'XXX'

Error which we get is
exec LogToDataBase @ClientID=0,@ErrorType=N'XXXXX',@ErrorCode=N'GetUserDetails',@PageName=N'ASP.login_aspx',@ErrorDesc=N'You must have administrative credentials to perform this task. Contact your system administrator for assistance.'

And have you done what was suggested to cure it ?

It means you are trying to execute something that requires an administrator account.

Apparently your account does not have administrative privileges

Are you the developer for the application and are encountering an issue?
Or are you the system administrator?
Or a user of an application rolled out to production, and are trying to get information about a specific user, where you really shouldn't have that level of access?

The way I'm reading what you present is: your user account doesn't have admin permission within the application itself, and are therefore unable to read user sensitive information stored in the application.  Based upon that reading, I think the answer is, "Okay, good... the application is working correctly."  *confused*

Have you followed the advice in the error message (as I said earlier) ?
What does your administrator say about this lack of administrator rights you apparently have ?

Is this a server-based application?
If so the user it runs under needs to be a database administrative user

I assume this means that you're using SQL Server on both platforms.  Just because you have the same database server in the same version doesn't mean that all your users are set up correctly on both systems.  Also, if you are somehow accessing IIS during the call to the stored procedure, IIS 7 is MUCH more finicky about security that IIS 6.

However, without knowing where exactly the code is crashing we can't help you much.  We need the source code for GetUserDetails() and some indication of exactly how far you got in its execution before you crashed.  Can you help us here?
