freebsd MegaRAID SMIS Provider

We're wanting to manage a new freebsd server (freenas) from the windows mega raid manager.

is there a best practice to install the smis driver?

freebsd features drivers for most hardware (i assume lsilogic here)
and utilities to configure them online

you can see the list of supported hardware in the realease notes of the corresponding freebsd version and on each driver's man page

you probably won't be able to use a windows soft.
i don't think it's going to be very useful but the vendor might provide a manager for freebsd.

if you are using freenas, you have zfs available and you probably should just configure your raid card as a big jbod (can do this offline one and for all) and configure everything that is raid related from within freenas
