Exchange 2010 OAB clarity

In Exchange 2010 The OAB by default downloads a copy to a clients machine in cached mode every 24 hours by default. However, The pollinterval variable sends updates to the client access server from the mailbox server every 480 seconds by default. Are these changes viewable every 8 hours by manually downloading a new address book and or partial.

I was reading this info here but it did not explicitly say so and I did not want to wait 8 hours to find out ;)

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The OAB is only generated once a day by default.
That is possible to change.
You can also force it thus:

get-offlineaddressbook | update-offlineaddressbook

The variable I think you are referring to is the distribution variable. This is where the servers are looking for new OAB files and has nothing to do with the client distribution. That is because the OAB can only be generated on one server, it is then distributed to other servers for clients to access.
