Internet Explorer has stopped working

I get this message more than once a day...

"Internet Explorer has stopped working

A problem has caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available."

Followed by a bottom of screen message about restarting the current Tab. Which is sometimes does.

I have this program - IE9-Windows7-x86-enu.exe - Can I use it to reinstall IE9. Will reinstall mess up Win 7 Pro?

Maybe install MSIE 10?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

I think the problem is caused by unwanted addon.

Try running IE in No addon mode

Click start-all programs-accessories-system tools- internet explorer no addons

If there is no IE errors then problem is caused by addons. Disable unwanted addons

Yes you can re-install with the e.exe that you have. IE 10 is fine as well, although I have seen some compatability issue. They also have IE11 out. First, completly uninstall IE9 beofre running the .exe.

Hope this helps,
