SBS 2011 short cut doesn't show revised data after clicking shortcut

I have a SBS 2011 Server.  After connecting a computer and user to the network and the shared folder the user creates shortcuts to certain files on the service (excel, word, etc.)

However, when the user clicks the spreadsheet and makes changes and then saves.  A second then goes to the exact same file the first user was accessing and just modified and opens the spreadsheet.  None of the items the first user created shows up on the spreadsheet.

I do notice they are having syncing issue when connected to the server.  Is there something I have setup when creating the share thru the wizard which is stopping complete syncronization after a user modify's a doc? I don't know.

What would you do in the situation?

I have seen this behavior when Shadow copies are enabled.  I am guessing eventually the data will refresh but immediately it is not.  Try disabling shadow copies and see if that helps.

1. Click on Start, type services and press enter.
2. Locate the service "Volume Shadow Copy" and right click and click "Stop".
3. Close Services windows.

Thanks!  But Volume shadow copy is used when creating a restore point for all files.  Is it mandantory to stop it so syncing works correctly?

What about turning off syncing?
