Is it necessary to uninstall Citrix 3 before you upgrade to Receiver 4.0

I want to upgrade all our computers to Receiver 4.0, but not if I have to uninstall 3.  So is it necessary to uninstall receiver 3 first?

You can directly upgrade the version from receiver 3 to 4, We performed same step and so for no issues identified.

Same here, no issues from Receiver 3.x to 4.

However, if any of your users have a previous version installed, e.g., v11.x or v12.x, those upgrades don't always go so well, so those versions should be uninstalled, reboot computer, and then cleanly install new version.  Reboot not required but just a little extra insurance.

For v11.x and v12.x, two clues as to when an upgrade isn't going to work:
- In the Programs folder, if there is more than one entry for Citrix Receiver (or previous names)
- Open up the registry and look at HKLM\Software\Citrix\ICAClient.  If the contents are sparse, upgrade won't work.  (Once you look at a few, you'll be able to tell the difference between the sparse ones and the complete ones.)

Thanks.  All computers are on 3.
