Re-sizing quick launch bar on SharePoint 2010

Hi Guys,

1) How can I re-size quick launch bar on SharePoint 2010?

I have enabled tree view for the document library which need more room on the quick launch to get the full view for the users!

2) How can I hide certain heading like Site Content from the SharePoint?

I have no knowledge on scripting coding etc... so I hope someone cal help me on this!

Use Sharepoint Designer to update the masterpage.  SPD is a free downloadable Microsoft tool.  You will be able to visually modify the page html using this tool, however if you have no idea about html/css it may be a bit of a struggle for you.  This is the only way to do it.

THis example is 2007 and but it's pretty much the same:

Sorry, I have tried using SPD to drag the quick launch but not possible!

Another guy told me to do below but I don't know where in v4.master!

Use SharePoint designer to add the style to the master page (in the head section).
Normally (no upgraded SharePoint farm) its the v4.master.

BODY #s4-leftpanel {
 WIDTH: 300px; FLOAT: left
}
.s4-ca {
MARGIN-LEFT: 300px;
}

Open in new window

Yes you have to add CSS, so open the code in advanced edit mode in SPD, and wrap you proposed code in the following tags:

<style type="text/css">
...code here...
</script>

Place this just before the closing head tag, i.e. just before this:
</head>

I have added the code like below!

<style type="text/css">
BODY #s4-leftpanel {
 WIDTH: 300px; FLOAT: left
}
.s4-ca {
MARGIN-LEFT: 300px;
}
</style>

Open in new window

Now I can see the Navigation bar moved but not Tree View!
Please find the attached screenshot!

Thanks
