vm shows disconnected during a host failure in cluster - vcenter
Hi
we have three host in vcenter in a cluster with HA and DRS.
Tested and verified that during any host failure the VMs are moved accordingly.
Recently we had an issue where the vcenter located in a different location lost connections to those host and thus the cluster was lost/disconnected but whats more intriguing is that when the connection was established , we discovered that just one host is not responding on the network and later when it did start to respond, we found just one VM on that host is showing disconnected status where as other VMs are up and running on other two hosts.
investigating the logs only shows the sequence of vcenter losing connections to that cluster and hosts one after the other but from the logs of these hosts i cannot drive anything conclusion.
if anyone has seen this happening or have any idea what could have caused it , then please do let me know.

DNS failure?
It's possible you may need to increase your hearbeat time in the vCenter configuration.
If you vCenter Server is located over a different network/WAN from the hosts.

ASKER
Well we have decided to upgrade the vCenter to the most available version.
Personally I would advise against if you have not already done this it can be problematic
