Dynamics GP Financial Yearend

We are running the Dynamics GP 10.0 Financial Year End.

When the process starts we get the message " a single-use batch or a quick journal transaction had not been posted", we select the 'continue' as per the instructions, but then the process just hangs for over an hour before we get the 'not responding' message at the top of the display

We have cleared everything but this continues.

Can anyone assist?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

The 'a single-use batch or a quick journal transaction had not been posted' message is fine - it just means that there is an unposted transaction in the GL. For example, you may be closing 2012, but have unposted 2013 transactions - this is no problem.

The 'not responding' message and the process taking over an hour may be normal. While it usually does not take that long, I have definitely seen that before with large databases. The time will greatly depend on how many GL accounts and transactions you have and the resources available on your server/network. The critical thing is not to crash out of the process. If you've already done that, you will need to restore from a backup and start over.

When you say you've 'cleared everything' what does that mean? Is the process still running? Can you see if there is activity on the SQL Server?

Done everything means that we have checked and ensured that all transactions for the year have been posted or deleted.
We did a restore. I will leave and let run and get back to you.

Why would this be closed with no points assigned to the person that tried to help you? In the end, it looks like you followed my suggestion to restore and start over.
