enlist dc or rodc

Hi Experts,

can you explain this in detail ?

Enlist a DNS Server in a DNS Application Directory Partition

I wanted to do this for my RODC but it was not possible.
No partition was found.
The question is now is it really important ?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Open your DNS console, go to forward lookup zones > zone name > _tcp > look for _ldap SRV records.
Those are your DCs responsible for authentication traffic and any SRV query for ldap is redirected to them by dns.

You would need to create one  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754292.aspx

The two default application partitions for DNS are the DomainDNS and ForestDNS zones

Thanks

ok, when I go here:
go to forward lookup zones > zone name > _tcp > look for _ldap SRV records.

...then I see all my 3 full DNS Servers but not the RODC.
I think this is ok, right ?
