Excel Add-in duplicate - can't see


I installed an Excel Add-in and then was sent a second version of it with the file name changed.
I need both versions to run because of functionality that no longer exists in the new one, but I can't see the new one in the ribbon. If I look in Excel Options both files are shown and the second is not disabled. Not sure why the second does not show up on the ribbon

(Assuming both Add-Ins used the same internal naming conventions for making changes to the MS-Excel environment, & the later revision is designed to replace the earlier revisions; not to allow concurrent usage)

It is difficult to advise further with the limited information provided, but perhaps both Add-ins check for existing changes (to the Ribbon) & remove what has been applied previously.

Whichever Add-In is the first to load, makes changes, & waits for user interaction.

The second loads, removes the changes made by the first, applies the changes again, & waits for user interaction.

Consequently, only one method of interaction with the Add-In(s) remains as the second has replaced the first.
