Auto Mail Forwarding specific day Exchange 2007

Hi,

We have an employee who works Monday to Thursday. I would like to set up exchange so that it will automatically forward his mails to a specific user on fridays.

Is this possible?

And if so how would i go about it?

I wear a lot of hats...

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

There is no "option" to do this but what you can do is have the user create an Outlook Rule with specific words in the message header, like "Mon", "Tues" etc.

You can also refer to the link below which uses VBA to accomplish this. I have not tested it out so do it in test first.

It's not possible. You will have to manually turn on that option.

Also you may want to use a script to do that:

to turn on the forwarding use:

Get-PSSnapin -Registered | Add-PSSnapin
set-mailbox user1 -ForwardingAddress user2

to turn off forwarding:
Get-PSSnapin -Registered | Add-PSSnapin
set-mailbox user1 -ForwardingAddress $null

So you can create a schedule with two scripts that run on a specific day to turn the forwarding on or off.
