IOS Mail Gmail Check Mail From Other Accounts using Pop3

Hello, I try to use gmail as a central mail hub so I set it up to pop3 my other email accounts and pull the email into gmail.  Gmail only checks the mail on a schedule sometimes about 1 time per hour or half hour.  Sometimes I know there are emails that I need to pull in more quickly.  When I am on my desktop computer, gmail has a refresh that will check the pop3 accounts and pull in those emails, however on IOS Mail app or gmail app, there does not seem to be a refresh button to pull in the pop3 emails on demand.  I even try to use safari to navigate to gmail but it gives me a dumb down mobile version of gmail and won't seem to let me view a regular desktop version to give me access to the refresh button for pulling in the pop3 emails on demand.  Does anyone know a way that I can get gmail on my iphone to pull in the pop3 emails on demand?

Thanks in advance,

I just did a bunch of research for you. Due to the fact that there is no way to change the check mail interval inside of Gmail for Mail Fetch (POP3) accounts and have to use the shortcut to check for more would lead me to think there is no way to do it from anywhere but the full desktop client.

You need to keep in mind that most POP3 host have a limit for the number of times and the frequency that mail can be checked for so this could cause problems. We have seen some of our clients that still use antiquated POP3 that get errors messages because their Outlooks are configured to check every one minute.

Why don't you just setup the mail accounts on your phone and when you really need a message because it is important you can do a refresh of the account which would pull it down. Just make sure that the account is set to manually get mail so you can use it only when you need the messages faster.

Thank you for your comment. That is actually the way I have it set up right now but the problem is that I process the emails into certain folders that run scripts and automation and they're not available on the pop3 account so as soon as Gmail pulls them in I have to reread, readdress or reprocess all those emails.

Oh understandable. I don't think you are going to find that functionality with any of the mobile clients for gmail.

So is there anyway to trigger that from the phone or browser or an email or something?

This is probably the closest thing you will be able to find but I don't think you are going to find an app or anything that will be a simple one-click solution.

Thank you.  I didn't want to send endless junk emails so the solution I have come up with is that I ended up setting up another account on my iphone to the other email accounts that gmail fetches data from and discovered that you can actually move emails from one account to the other  in IOS 7.

I have set up multiple accounts on the iphone and can move emails in between accounts as needed.
