vCenter install with existing SQL server , what do I have to do manually ?

If I install vCenter on and existing SQL 2008 database , do I have to prepare the DB manually or do you just install vCenter and point to the SQL instance ?

You need to configure a 64bit System DSN for use to connect to the remote MS SQL

Suggest to create a DB and assign necessary permission for the vCenter, there is a script which is available to create a DB with necessary permissions
