Exmerge of MB data to NAS

need to exmerge all data from all mailboxes and send the pst to a mapped drive, which refers to a NAS device.

need the command syntax to send 1 mailbox to test the activity and and another to account for all mailboxes in one command if possible.

if no way to send to external drive in the command than since disk space is short the command to issue one at a time will do fine

You should be able to just use exmerge and point it to the mapped drive.

great.. can you pass along the proper command syntax to do so?

If it's just exchange 2003 then its all GUI...if its 2007 or higher then you will need to use powershell. if its powershell and you are on exchange 2010 sp2 you will need to mark the drive as shared and use this command:

new-mailboxexportrequest -mailbox username -filepath "\\computername\share\user.pst"

if you want to do everyone at once:

foreach ($i in (Get-Mailbox -result unlimited)) {New-MailboxExportRequest -Mailbox $i -FilePath "\\computername\share\($i).pst"}

if its 2010 sp1 or 2007 the commands are similar but replace new-mailboxexportrequest with Export-Mailbox

Can you double check the size of the individual mailboxes before you start ? You will lose information if you don't check if any mailbox is over 2 GB (in case you don't use a special procedure to run it in multiple times to create multiple PST files)
