Allow list in Exchange

I'm looking to add an address to the white list in Exchange.  Is it possible to add and address  like sales@domain.com or can I only add an IP?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

If you add that email as a contact it will be considered whitelisted. just simply create a contact with that external address and hide it from your address list.

or

Set-ContentFilterConfig -BypassedSenders "sales@domain.com"

to use the command you need to use powershell to add it. what version of exchange are you using?

Oh, I have powershell, it's 2010, I was just wondering where it would appear in the console?

There is no console view for that. if you want to view what you have allowed you can do the get-contenetfilterconfig | fl to view what you have in the list. If you want to do it all through EMC you can do my first suggestion and create a contact which will effectively whitelist the user's external email account.
