TSM - Retrieve on a Windows machine files archived from a Linux box

Is it possible to retrieve Linux archived files to a Windows box ?

On the Linux machine I do like this:

dsmc ret -optfile=/path/to/dsm.opt "/path/to/source_file" "/path/to/destination/dir/" -fromowner=\* -asnode=XXX

but I do not know how to do that on Windows.

All I want is to retrieve files from TSM - files archived from a Linux box.

that's not possible, unfortunately.

Data stored on TSM coming from Linux are incompatible with the TSM Windows client, due to irreconcilable filesystem differences.

You'll have to find another way to move data between Linux and Windows. Aren't FTP, NFS or CIFS/Samba  viable options?

Thanks for your quick answer. I was affraid of this :(

I am thinking about making a Windows share, mount it on the Linux box and retrieve the files from TSM on this mount. I hope it will work.
This should indeed work. Linux can mount Windows shares, provided the appropriate client package is installed, often called "cifs-utils".

Good luck!
