Macro in Word 10 - Force a 'Save As' as the first step in a macro project

I am running a series of macros to converting an Instructor Manual to a Student Manual. Because I want to keep the original manual intact, I would like to force the user to Save As a new document before running the rest of the macro.

Does anyone have the code to make this work?

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This would do it,
Sub SaveAsStudentManual()
    Dim strFileName As String
    strFileName = ActiveDocument.FullName
    ActiveDocument.SaveAs Replace(strFileName, ".", "_Student.")
End Sub

Open in new window

but you could also set the source document to read-only and/or do File/New when starting so that the original is treated as a template a new document created.
