Cisco UCS server blade profile

What is the purpose for UCS server blade profile?  Does it change dynamically or manually in case of server hardware failure?

Does HP blade system got same feature?

Not sure about the HP side.

On the Cisco side, you configure the profile for that server, and it can change dynamically depending on your settings and how it applies to that profile. Should that server ever go down and you need to replace it, you just unassociate the profile and attach it to the new server. That way it keeps everything pretty much the same.

Also if you want to keep a standard configuration, let's say number of NICs, hard drive raid type, etc., then you can create a template off that profile and copy and associate to other servers.
