Disable internet access on one workstation

How can I make it so that the warehouse workstation can't access the internet while the warehouse user is log in and if the administrator needs to log in and do update for the same workstation to have internet access?

Thanks All

How about a logon script to remove (or add for admin) the gateway setting (as long as any connected communications are on the same subnet)

The only reliable way to do this is to use a proxy server that is Active Directory aware. There are several proxy software packages out there such as Untangle, and several UTM appliances support this functionality as well.

As Kwoof said. The simplest way would be to set a static IP on the workstation but not give it a default Gateway. It will be able to communicate with everything on the same subnet but won't have anyway to forward external request to the router, hence having no internet.

All the admin would have to do when he logged in would be to enter the Default Gateway which is probably the IP of your router. You could also limit the permissions on the regular users account so he wouldn't be able to enter a Gateway even if he was nerdie enough to figure it out.

You would do all the changes from the IPv4 settings on the network card properties.

Ok, this is a easy way to disable internet for users

you dont need to change or update something for administrators, you just put this GPO Locally for "non-administrators"

so, any user who is no administrator will be without internet access..

good luck!

GPO no internet access
