How to migrate data into Oracle database

Hi,
I need to migrate:

Microsoft Access Database TO Oracle Database

Microsoft SQL Server database TO Oracle database
IBM DB2 database TO Oracle database

I know that I can use Oracle SQL Developer Migration tool, but I would like to know what steps should I perform and  if there are other free tools in order to migrate the data.

Thanks in advance!

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

Instead of a lot of extra tools, I suggest you generate text files and use SQL Loader to load the data into Oracle.

SQL Loader does one thing and does it very well:  Take delimited text and loads it into Oracle.

Once you get everything set up and working, it would be easy to automate through scripts and scheduled jobs.

IMHO, your best bet might be to consult with Oracle first. (talk to a support Pro at Oracle, Check their resources over the web, ...etc)

Oracle is very picky about how data should be "presented" to their systems...
Access, SQL Server, and IBM systems are very different in a great many areas, and there may not be on "Best" way to convert your specific data.

For example, an Access DB might contain data-types that may (currently)  *never* convert to Oracle directly:
OLE, Hyperlinks, Attachment, Lookups, Formatted Memo fields (rtf/html), Multivalued fields.

The last thing you want to do is import all of this data, and have it not work in Oracle.
Then have Oracle say... "Why didn't you call us first?, ...we would have told you that you should....."

For this the Free tool is Oracle SQL developer which i think of and laready posted in my previous post.

Other then that there are couple of third party tools to migrate the data from one DBMS to other DBMS software.

like i previous pointed out Embarcadero's DBAritisan, SwisSQL- Data Migration Tool etc.
