I'm trying to establish a connection to MySQL version 5.5.20 from SAP BW version 7.01 and don’t have a JAVA stack but ABAP.

There are several documents detailing connections to MySQL through UD connect via J2EE but the issue is we are not structured that way.

Any help would be beneficial.

Are you running SAP BW on Windows? If so you should be able to connect via odbc. you'll need to install the odbc drivers for mysql.
I won't pretend to know SAP BW but I've used other BI tools and they've all been able to use odbc.
