Track Vacations using MS Outlook

Is there a way to track employee vacation time through Outlook? My colleague receives advance notification emails from other employees, about their future vacations and he records them manually. Also, are you familiar with an application software that does this efficiently?

Hi, bobox00.

The simplest way to track employee vacation time through Outlook is for each manager to create a vacation calendar and have the employees invite that calendar when they schedule their vacations.  The manager can accept (approve) or decline (reject) the invitation which tells the employee whether their request is approved or not.  It also give the manager the ability to see who on their team is on vacation at any point in time.
