using import specificarion in VBA

I am trying to use a saved import spec in VBA which I have done before. It keep telling me that there is no import spec by that name. How do I find out what Access thinks the name of this import spec is?

This is a common issue.
People contuse "Import Spec" with a "Saved import"....
They are not the same thing.

What you seem to have is a "saved import"

If you need to run as saved import use code like this:
    DoCmd.RunSavedImportExport "SavedImportExportName"

...If you forgot the name of your saved import, you can look it up under:
External data-->ImportExport Specs
Look in the system table MSysIMEXSpecs to see a list of all the specs and their names

To DrLechter thanks. Only my imports specs are there, I would also like to use an export spec to export a table, do you know where those would be listed?
Jeffrey CoachmanMIS LiasonCommented: that same table...
It should be in the same table.  Try creating a new export spec and you should see it appear in there.
