Outlook 2007

My OS is win 7 prof 64 bit and I use outlook 2007.  Recently I had to recreate my msn account again as a IMAP and the process of downloading all the emails took as long time, but it is still at about 62%.  When I delete a message, the message is not deleted but it has an underline thru the listing, but does not disappear from the list of messages and it is still there even if I were to close Outlook and reopen it again.  Why is this happening and hope the experts can please throw some light.  Thank u.

"The solutions and answers provided on Experts Exchange have been extremely helpful to me over the last few years. I wear a lot of hats - Developer, Database Administrator, Help Desk, etc., so I know a lot of things but not a lot about one thing. Experts Exchange gives me answers from people who do know a lot about one thing, in a easy to use platform." -Todd S.

This is standard and typical with IMAP accounts.  It basically means it is marked for deletion and you can purge them manually by using the edit menu > purge

This guide will also allow you to set it up automatically.
